                                 I watched it

                     slowly fill with air, the big-

               gest lung I’d ever seen, all in-

           hale, striped and speckled and bursting

      with shards of color–an uncommon

    bloom to see in the late spring, in the

   early morning, in the middle of a green

     sweeping field. I don’t know how

       I woke wrapped in this torch

            of pollen or how these

                wings still
